Liberman Broadcasting, Inc. (LBI Media, Inc.) is the largest privately held, minority-owned Spanish-language broadcaster in the United States with TV and radio stations operating in many of the top Hispanic markets. LBI Media, Inc. is the parent company to the Estrella TV Network, Don Cheto Radio Network, Fenomeno Studios, seventeen radio stations, ten owned and operated television stations and a market-leading sales organization with offices across the country including Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Atlanta and Miami.
LBI Media, Inc. was established in 1987 by José and Lenard Liberman. The father and son partnership brings a combined 80+ years of operating experience in the broadcasting industry. José Liberman began his radiobroadcasting career in 1957 when he purchased XERZ-AM in Mexico, and established his own radio advertising representation firm. He is credited with being one of the early pioneers of Spanish broadcasting in the U.S. after he acquired KLVE-FM in 1975, one of the first FM Spanish language stations west of the Mississippi and the first Hispanic AM/FM radio combination in Southern California in 1979.
In 1998, LBI Media, Inc., launched its first television station (KRCA) in Los Angeles, and in 2009 launched its national television network Estrella TV, which is available in every market in the country.
